ABOUT US
Canalside Activity and Environment Centre is run by Scouting volunteers for the benefit of young people and the wider community.
In spring 2016, St. George's Mill Hill Scout Group took out a lease on the plot of land which was to be developed into the activity centre you see today.
Thousands of young people from across the Borough use the facilities which enable groups to give young people access to the outdoors in an affordable way.
Our History.
We took out our first lease on the land adjacent to Feniscliffe Allotments in April 2016. Our initial work was to flatten the the site and install drainage ditches and pond to drain the site to make it useable as an activity centre.
Since 2016 we have planted over 2200 native tress and shrubs around the site as well as adding all the activity areas. Our work continues, and we welcome support from new volunteers and grant giving partners.
